Percepción de la violencia obstétrica de la población mallorquina.

Abstract

[spa] La violencia que sufren muchas mujeres durante el embarazo, parto y postparto por parte del sistema sanitario es denominada violencia obstétrica (VO), esta se encuentra totalmente normalizada e invisibilizada por la sociedad. Por esta razón, el objetivo principal de este estudio es llevar a cabo una primera aproximación a la percepción que tiene la población mallorquina de la violencia obstétrica. Se trata de una investigación exploratoria, donde participaron 80 personas, tanto hombres como mujeres de entre 18 y 55 años. Se realizaron 80 cuestionarios que posteriormente fueron analizados a través del programa SPSS. El estudio demostró que más de la mitad de la muestra no conocía lo que era la violencia obstétrica. También, se extrajeron comparaciones en función del género y tener hijos. Así pues, se observó que sí existían ciertas diferencias significativas en función del género y tener hijos a la hora de conocer este fenómeno. Teniendo esto en cuenta, se debería estudiar mucho más este fenómeno, ya que apenas existen datos para así poder visibilizarlo y erradicarlo.

[eng] The violence that many women suffer during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum by the health system is called obstetric violence (OV), which is completely normalized and invisibilized by society. For this reason, the main objective of this study is to carry out a first approach to the perception that the Majorcan population has of obstetric violence. This is an exploratory research, with the participation of 80 people, both men and women between 18 and 55 years old. Eighty questionnaires were completed and later analyzed using the SPSS program. The study showed that more than half of the sample did not know what obstetric violence was. Also, comparisons were made according to gender and childbearing. Thus, it was observed that there were certain significant differences in terms of gender and having children when it came to knowledge of this phenomenon. Taking this into account, this phenomenon should be studied much more, since there is hardly any data available in order to make it visible and eradicate it.
