[eng] Learning styles are the different ways in which students learn. They can
serve as a kind of guide to how students evolve in their teaching-learning process
(García,2018). Nowadays they are relevant to improve the efficiency of
knowledge acquisition, in this case in the subject of German as a second foreign
language.
Nowadays, in many cases, an outdated methodological approach is still
used in the teaching of German as a second foreign language. This proves to be
very unfruitful for efficient and communicative language learning. Therefore, the
main objective of this Master's Thesis (TFM) focuses on the study of different
learning styles and their practical application in the classroom by means of a
didactic proposal. In the theoretical framework, the VAK model will be studied,
which will be used in the applied part of the work, as well as the Universal Design
for Learning, better known as DUA. In addition, different methodologies will be
discussed, such as project-based learning where students will carry out a series
of guided activities leading to a final project, the natural and communicative
approach and the intercultural approach, which will be applied in the relevant
didactic proposal.
It is of vital importance to be able to identify the different learning styles
and to determine different teaching methods or strategies based on the different
learning styles. Therefore, in this TFM we propose the creation of a didactic
proposal, which integrates the different learning styles. This will focus on the 2nd
of ESO. The main focus will be on common oral vocabulary, the narration of
specific and habitual past events, the expression of a message with coherence
and appropriateness and the production of short and comprehensible texts,
among other contents. In any case, the proposal could also work with other
courses and with other contents, always with the appropriate adaptations. The
communicative approach will be of great relevance, since, when learning a
language, it is essential to show the ability to express oneself in the target
language in real situations and in an efficient and appropriate manner. In order to
integrate learning styles, different activities will be proposed, for example, making
greater use of audiovisual resources for students with a more visual or auditory
style, as well as some other project-based activities where they have to create
and be original, thus encouraging kinaesthetic learning.
