propi desenvolupament
[eng] Premature birth is characterized by multiple interacting atypical limitations that
affect different aspects of neuropsychological development. Thus, premature
birth implies a situation of immaturity that affects all anatomical and functional
systems of the neonate, which can lead to other pathologies and/or alterations in
child development. The aim of this work is to carry out a systematic review of the
literature to analyze the existing empirical research on the impact of preterm birth
on neurodevelopment. A total of 24 articles were selected and analyzed. The
results showed that preterm infants are at increased risk for speech delays during
the first two years, as well as cognitive and motor delays in early childhood,
compared to children born at term. In addition, the need for greater continuity and
coordination in the implementation of preterm infant follow-up programs is
evident, in order to prevent difficulties related to school learning and
development
