La importància del treball femení en el sector agro-alimentari de les Illes. Una perspectiva històrica

[cat] Es tracta, a partir d'un exemple concret, el tema de la segmentació del treball per gènere en el món rural menorquí durant la segona meitat del segle XX. Més concretament, en el marc d'una de les unitats d'explotació característiques de l'illa: els anomenats llocs. La recerca es fonamenta en un conjunt d'entrevistes realitzades amb els parcers/as que des de 1936 van estar a càrrec de l'explotació Llinàritx Nou. Es presenten, així mateix, documents de diferents característiques (contractes, comptes, fotografies, etc.) generats per aquests parcers en el transcurs de la seva activitat. La recerca posa de manifest, com va succeir en pràcticament tots els àmbits en l'època preindustrial, que la dona del parcer, malgrat treballar diàriament en els quefers quotidians de l'explotació i procurar el benestar general de la unitat familiar, no figurava en els contractes de parceria que es renovaven periòdicament. Així mateix, com en el cas de les "mestresses de casa", la seva incorporació al règim general de la seguretat social i el pagament d'aquest dret per part del propietari, va anar molt més tardà que el del seu marit.

[eng] This paper deals with the segmentation of work by gender in the rural world of Menorca during the second half of the 20th century, using a specific example. More specifically, in the framework of one of the characteristic exploitation units of the island: the so-called "llocs". The research is based on a series of interviews with the sharecroppers who were in charge of the Llinàritx Nou estate since 1936. Documents of different characteristics (contracts, accounts, photographs, etc.) generated by these sharecroppers in the course of their activity are also presented. The research shows, as was the case in practically all areas in pre-industrial times, that the sharecropper's wife, despite working daily in the daily tasks of the farm and looking after the general welfare of the family unit, did not appear in the sharecropping contracts that were periodically renewed. Likewise, as in the case of the "housewives", her incorporation into the general social security system and the payment of this right by the owner was much later than that of her husband.
