El fenómeno overtourism en Mallorca y Amsterdam

Abstract

[spa] Este trabajo estudia el fenómeno del overtourism en destinos urbanos centrándose en los casos de Palma y Ámsterdam. Se han seleccionado estos dos destinos por ser ciudades con diferencias geográficas al estar una en el mar Mediterráneo y la otra en el norte de Europa, pero ambas afectadas por las consecuencias el turismo masivo como la gentrificación, la pérdida de identidad, malestar social, incremento del precio de la vivienda, entre otras. También se realiza un análisis de las medidas tomadas por los gobiernos para hacer frente a este fenómeno como la imposición de impuestos, limitación del alquiles vacacional, limitación de la llegada de turistas. Y finalmente realiza una comparación de los efectos y las medidas en cada destino para ver las similitudes y diferencias.

[eng] This paper studies the phenomenon of overtourism in urban destinations, focusing on the cases of Palma and Amsterdam. These two destinations have been selected because they are cities with geographical differences, one in the Mediterranean Sea and the other in Northern Europe, but both affected by the consequences of mass tourism such as gentrification, loss of identity, social unrest, increased the price of housing, among others. Also, an analysis of the measures taken by governments to deal with this phenomenon has been made, such as the imposition of taxes, limitation of vacation rentals, limitation of the arrival of tourists is also carried out. And finally, make a comparison of the effects and measures in each destination to see the similarities and differences.
