Integração da energia solar térmica em processos industriais de baixa temperatura: uma década de casos de estudo para um futuro promissor

[por] A energia solar é uma fonte de energia renovável capaz de produzir calor, promover reações químicas ou gerar eletricidade. As suas vantagens relativamente a outras fontes de energia têm favorecido o crescimento do número de aplicações industriais, sendo atualmente uma das principais fontes de energias renováveis e com grande potencial de crescimento. Neste trabalho é realizada uma revisão de vários casos de estudo da aplicação da energia solar térmica em processos industriais de baixa temperatura (80-150ºC), com o objetivo de dar foco aos benefícios da sua aplicação de forma direta ou sinergética com tecnologias complementares no campo industrial. O trabalho permite identificar as potenciais aplicações da energia solar térmica no setor industrial: - quais dos processos industriais estão mais bemadaptados à sua integração; - as vantagens e desvantagens da sua aplicação; - e que tipos de coletores solares são usados nesta gama de temperaturas. Finalmente, a análise permite identificar alguns desafios enfrentados na implementação das tecnologias de solar térmico, e que limitam a sua utilização mais generalizada no setor industrial.

[eng] Solar energy is a renewable energy source capable of producing heat, promoting chemical reactions, or generating electricity. Its advantages over other energy sources have favoured the growth in the number of industrial applications, being currently one of the main sources of renewable energy and with great growth potential. In this work, a review of several case studies of the application of solar thermal energy in low temperature industrial processes (80-150ºC) is carried out, in order to focus on the benefits of its application directly or synergistically with complementary technologies in the industrial field. The work makes it possible to identify the potential applications of solar thermal energy in the industrial sector: - which of the industrial processes are best adapted to its integration; - the advantages and disadvantages of its application; - and what types of solar collectors are used in this temperature range. Finally, the analysis makes it possible to identify some challenges faced in the implementation of solar thermal technologies, which limit their more widespread use in the industrial sector.
