[eng] The big growth of online travel agencies in recent years has
created new technological challenges for companies that need
to meet end-user hotel booking searches without impacting
costs and time. The ease and convenience of online commerce today means that today’s users visit multiple websites to
plan their trip before finally booking it, generating billions of
daily requests between systems of online agency companies
and final hotel service providers. It is, therefore, necessary to
establish mechanisms that reduce the cost of this transactional
traffic without reducing the quality of the service offered to
the end user.
This paper presents the architecture, implementation and
processes of a transaction traffic optimization application for a
connectivity platform between companies in the tourism sector. Its development has involved the use of different technologies capable of storing and managing large volumes of data
taking into account the scalability and performance required
in the sector. The current operation of the tool has managed
to optimize and reduce approximately 56 million of the daily
transactions on the platform, resulting in cost savings in its
technological infrastructure.
