Historias de vida en el medio penitenciario

Abstract

[spa] El objetivo de este estudio es conocer la realidad penitenciaria a la que se enfrentan las personas que viven en régimen de privación de libertad. Se trata de conocer el modo en que los internos tienen que adaptarse al medio penitenciario y las consecuencias que surgen derivadas del mismo. Las herramientas utilizadas para llevar a cabo este proyecto de investigación son la historia de vida y la observación participante. Los resultados de este estudio revelan que los internos se adaptan al medio carcelario porque es la única manera de sobrevivir en él. En cuanto a las consecuencias, este estudio muestra que existe una relación lineal y ascendente entre las mismas y los años pasados en prisión. También, se pretende verificar la necesidad de la figura del educador o educadora social en el medio penitenciario. En este sentido, los resultados muestran la necesidad de regular esta profesión para que dicho profesional pueda ejercer sus funciones en el ámbito penitenciario.

[eng] The aim of this study is to know the penitentiary reality that inmates have to face while they are living serving a sentence of deprivation of liberty. It is a question of knowing how inmates have to adapt to the prison environment and the consequences that arise from it. The instruments used to carry out this research project are the life story and participant observation. The results of this study reveal that inmates adapts to the prison environment because it is the only way to survive in it. Regarding the consequences, this study shows that the consequences and the years spent in prison are related. Also, it is tried to verify the necessity of the figure of the social educator in the penitentiary environment. In this sense, the results show the need to regulate this profession so that the professional can exercise their functions in the penitentiary area.
