[eng] The present Work of Final Degree consists in a theoretical part in which concepts are focused
on the phonological awareness and its influence on reading and writing. We understand that
this process can be achieved through a series of stages which will be the basic necessary
conditions in children to achieve a suitable learning for a long time.
It is focused on daily analysis of a practical case, namely on the observation of a child in the
1st year of Primary Education who has some learning difficulties when reading and writing.
With the objective to improve his shortages, a series of specific tasks have been designed.
The practical case is developed through phonological awareness workshops in which some
activities of Language stimulation are carried through in the speech therapist room and other
activities in the ordinary classroom through observation of natural Language.
In addition, a test to check the linguistic competence is carried out with the aim to get more
reliable and accurate data. Taking into account the outcomes of the different workshops and
tasks carried out, we can conclude that phonological awareness is very important to
accomplish reading and writing successfully.
