[eng] In today’s society, more prestige is commonly attributed to the transmission of knowledge and information. But the main goal of education should be more focused on building good citizens with strategies and resources for self-regulation, rather than turning them into good doctors or engineers. For this reason, the present work seeks to deepen and share information on the importance of working, specifically, emotional regulation in early childhood education. It is also intended to propose various practical applications to be able to carry out with children when situations arise where emotions overwhelm them, understanding these moments as an opportunity to develop their emotional skills. The reason why these proposals are aimed at this stage is because childhood is a key opportunity to assimilate fundamental emotional habits that will preside in the adult stage. In addition, working on emotional intelligence from an early age is essential to preventing problems such as violence, improving interpersonal relationships, or promoting personal well-being.
