[eng]The psychomotor development of childhood education between zero and three years is
the base of the general human development. It is impossible to achieve intelligence
without motion. Because of that, humans could not carry out a good development
because the contact with the world is necessary to get knowledge. The development is
conditioned by biological and environmental factors.
During the motor development, children pass through different stages which change
depending on each author. Some authors agree on the different stages, but not about the
age, and some others establish different stages. These differences frequently depend on
the evidences chosen by the authors, why the children chosen receive a diiferent
education or treatement.
The role of adults in motor development is essential and it can be decesive for its
quality. Children cannot be forced to adopt positions for which they are not ready. In
other words, they have not already learned by themselves to be in that position. Because
of that, they cannot be placed sitting or standing earlier than they are prepared to. Also,
depending on the environment offered to, it may promote free movement and
consequently the free development of children or, on th eother hand, this will be limited
by a lack of space or time to move. |
