[eng] This research aims to study teaching techniques in the acquisition of literacy in
situations of atypical development. For this reason, we count on the observation of one
participant affected by Charge Syndrome, one of the most frequent pathologies within
the group of deafblindness people.
Deafblindness is a unique and quite heterogeneous disability, in which both
partial or total vision and hearing loss are combined. It is characterized by specific
intervention needs and specialized professionals, who are familiar with this type of
pathology, as well as with other languages, such as sign language.
In this sense, it is a longitudinal and observational case study, which will provide
information on the teaching techniques used with the observed participant, and which
specific adaptations are necessary for the acquisition of literacy, when both vision and
hearing capabilities are affected.
A priority in this work is the collection of the tools and techniques used during the
teaching, and the comparison of these tools and techniques. In the same vein, some new
proposals for teaching techniques will be provided.
